Outdoor Education Bike Trip 2012

The Metro Outdoor Ed program completed its annual spring bike trip sunday, May 6th through Friday May 11th. six students, three staff riders, one volunteer rider, and a staff sag driver biked 165 miles and traversed three states. View the Outdoor Education site and see the photos.

Metro Theater Presents Wednesday May 16

Senior Reception May 17th

Metro Senior Reception was Thursday, May 17th. Metro graduates from Terms 1, 2 and 3 , Metro staff, family and friends gathered to celebrate senior recognitions and accomplishments.

World Book Night @ Metro

Monday April 23 Metro and Barnes and Noble celebrated World Book Night – over the lunch hour. Barnes and Noble provided 40 copies of Sherman Alexie’s The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, this year especially this is a favorite book at Metro.

World Book Night is an annual celebration designed to spread a love of reading and books. Read more here.

 

Day of Silence at Metro

Several Metro students and staff participated in the National Day of Silence sponsored by GLSEN (Gay Lesbian & Straight Education Network). The National Day of Silence is a day of action for students across the country. A vow of silence is taken for the day to call attention to bullying and harrassment in schools, and move towards creating safer schools for all students. Read more here. 

Metro’s GSA group promoted the event and gathered for a lunchtime information sharing session that was open to all Metro students.
