Workplace Learning Center Internships Applications Due 4/6/2012

Metro High School Sophomores and Juniors can explore career options by applying for the Workplace Learning Connection student internship program. These 45-90 hour work-based learning experiences benefit post secondary education and career decisions while earning elective credit. WLC summer/fall 2012 internship applications are due April 6, 2012.

Metro’s Spring Blood Drive

Friday, February 3rd Metro held it’s annual spring Red Cross Blood Drive in the Metro gym. Students and staff donated more than 60 pints of blood, many donators were first time participants. Student Garrett Blackwell stepped in and assisted with signing in donors and keeping the blood drive running smoothly. The 60 pints of blood donated earned two $250 scholarships for Metro graduates.

Pep Rally results in a new look for Chuck

Coach Chuck Tonelli encourages basketball players to dress a little sharper on game days. Chuck challenged one player to wear a tie and made a deal if the tie was worn, Chuck would shave his head. The student wore the tie, so at the Friday Pep Rally Chuck got a new look.

The Metro Phoenix Basketball team and coaches are headed to the Pathway Invitational Tournamnet near Kalona. Check the Metro Basketball site for directions and schedules. Go METRO!
